Epidote - Epidote with Quartz from Pakistan

Instead of being a massive block of dense crystals,these two specimens offer beautiful crystal associations, featuring epidote growing in combination with quartz, which is the large, sharp, clear to smoky mineral forming the main structure.
The bright pistachio-green, sponge-like coating covering on specimen 4 is a dense microcrystalline or fibrous carpet of tiny epidote needles. It forms a rough crust (often called an epidote "vug" or "pocket lining") blanketing the underlying crystal cluster.
Specimen 5 features gorgeous, gemmy, clear crystals surrounded by a neat border of fuzzy, dark olive-green to pistachio-green epidote needles. You can also spot tiny individual shards and sprays of green epidote needles sitting directly on the flat crystal faces.  These combined "Epidote on Quartz" pieces from Alpine-style clefts (very common in regions like Pakistan) are highly sought after because the sharp contrast between the glass-clear crystals and the incredibly aestethic deep green, velvety epidote.
