Demijohn Bowl
Vintage European demijohn wine bottles are hand-cut to make these beautiful bowls. A demijohn is a large, narrow-necked glass bottle, often enclosed in wicker or plastic, which were used for fermenting, storing, and transporting liquids like wine, cider, and oil. Dating back to the 14th century, these bottles hold high decorative value today, especially for farmhouse or European-style decor. After artisans hand-cut these bowls, they then hand-apply copper foil to the bowl’s rim for a finished look. Many jugs are sacrificed during this delicate process. Only the highest-quality survivors are sold. This is a vintage item. Condition, size, and color (clear & blueish) will vary.
